This week in Paris: Fashion Week, Monet at the Orangerie and a free night at the Louvre

Fashion Week opens with a free runway show facing the Eiffel Tower, Monet arrives at the Orangerie and the Louvre opens its doors for free on Friday evening. Our ideas for the week of 28 September to 4 October 2026.

  • Le Défilé L'Oréal Paris

    To open Fashion Week, L'Oréal Paris stages an open-air runway show on place Joffre, facing the Eiffel Tower, open to the public on registration.

  • Chatou Antiques Fair (111th edition)

    More than 300 antique and second-hand dealers set up on the Île des Impressionnistes: antique furniture, jewellery, paintings, vintage fashion and curiosities. A riverside escape, by RER A from Auber.

  • Monet: Painting Time

    For the centenary of Claude Monet's death, the Orangerie brings together some forty works on the passing of time, next to the Water Lilies. The museum stands at the Concorde end of the Tuileries, about 15 minutes' walk from the hotel (estimate).

  • Free late opening at the Louvre

    As on every first Friday of the month (except July and August), the Louvre opens its collections free of charge in the evening. Perfect after a day of meetings: check the access conditions on the museum's website before you go.

Paris is living to the beat of Fashion Week: from 28 September to 6 October, the fashion houses unveil their spring-summer 2027 collections. Most shows are invitation-only, but L’Oréal Paris opens its own to the public, on registration, on Monday 28 September on place Joffre.

A short walk from the hotel, at the end of the Tuileries, the Orangerie marks the centenary of Monet’s death from Wednesday 30 September.
