The theatre right next to the hotel
A few steps from rue Pasquier, the Théâtre des Mathurins is our neighbour. First a simple concert room, it became a real theatre after works in 1897-1898 and opened on 10 October 1898 as the “Salle des Mathurins”. Sacha Guitry made his debut as a playwright here in 1905; the venue took the name Théâtre des Mathurins in 1912 and, under Georges Pitoëff, became a hotbed of creation.
What’s on?
The programme is deliberately eclectic: from contemporary to classic, from musicals to stand-up, including family shows. The theatre has a main hall and a smaller studio.
How to get there from the Concortel?
On foot, in a few minutes (estimate): rue des Mathurins crosses rue Pasquier. Perfect for an evening without the metro; for dinner before the show, see our gourmet addresses.
