The Clichy-Batignolles – Martin Luther King Park, at 147 rue Cardinet in the 17th arrondissement, is a contemporary park of about ten hectares laid out on former railway land. In October it opens at 7 am on weekdays and 8 am at weekends, until 7.30 pm, according to the City of Paris. From Hôtel Concortel, it is one stop on metro line 14 from Saint-Lazare.

What is Clichy-Batignolles Park?

Opened in stages between 2007 and 2021 at the heart of the new Clichy-Batignolles district, this park of about 10 hectares is named after Martin Luther King. It was created on the former Batignolles railway land: lawns, ponds, rain gardens and wide paths, framed by the district's contemporary architecture and the Paris courthouse.

What can you do there?

  • Stroll along the ponds and meadows, away from the bustle of the grand boulevards.
  • Run: the paths suit an easy jog (see also our Running in Paris page).
  • Take a break with children: the park has playgrounds.
  • In spring, enjoy the cherry blossom; in October, the autumn colours.

According to the City of Paris, the lifts to the belvedere are currently out of service.

When should you go and how do you get there?

In October (until the 24th), the park opens from 7 am to 7.30 pm on weekdays and from 8 am to 7.30 pm on Saturday and Sunday, according to paris.fr. From the Concortel, walk to Saint-Lazare station and take line 14 to Pont Cardinet, just one stop. On foot, allow about 25 minutes (estimate). On Sunday 11 October, line 13 is closed until noon for works, so line 14 is the easiest option.
